Troubleshooting
The messages AI access can show you, and what to do about each.
In the maklly app
"Too many attempts. Wait a moment and try again." You tried to sign in, link a code or open the web app several times in quick succession. Wait a minute and try again — the limit resets on its own.
"That code didn't work. Check it and try again, or get a new one from the web app." The link code was mistyped, already used, or older than 10 minutes. Codes are 8 characters and only the newest one is valid. Create a fresh code in the web app under Settings → AI access and type that one.
"There's already a maklly account with this email address. Sign in to it in the web app, confirm your email address there, and then try again." Your Apple address already belongs to a maklly account that was created another way. Trying again cannot fix it: sign in to that account in the web app, confirm the email address there, then repeat the Apple sign-in in the app.
"Sign in with Apple isn't available right now." The server cannot offer Apple sign-in at the moment. Try again later, or link this iPhone with a code from the web app instead.
"Apple sign-in couldn't be completed. Try again." Apple did not return a usable confirmation — usually a cancelled or interrupted sheet. Tap the button again.
"No connection. Check your internet and try again." Nothing is lost: transcripts stay queued on the phone and are sent when you are back online.
Status says "Couldn't sync last time" Tap Retry now. If it keeps failing right after you unlinked this device in the web app, the phone is using a link that no longer exists — see below.
The device was unlinked
If you press Revoke on a device in the web app (Settings → AI access → Linked devices), that device's link is gone immediately. On the phone this shows up as "Couldn't sync last time", and the app stops retrying rather than burning requests against a link that will never work again.
To bring it back: in the maklly app go to Settings → AI Access, use Unlink this device, then sign in with Apple again (or link with a fresh code). Nothing on the phone is lost — the queued recordings are sent once the new link is in place.
Connecting an assistant
The browser asks you to sign in instead of showing the approval screen The browser you are connecting in is not signed in to maklly. Open the web app from the app instead: Settings → AI Access → Connect an AI assistant, then add the connector in the browser that opens. The handoff session lasts 24 hours, so if you started the connection yesterday, tap it again.
"We do not recognise the app that sent you here, so there is nothing to connect." The approval link came from a client maklly has never seen. Start the connection again from inside your assistant rather than from a link someone sent you.
"The address that app asked us to return you to is not one it registered." maklly stopped rather than sending you on to an address the client did not register. This is a safety stop; do not work around it — start the connection again from inside your assistant.
"The authorization request was incomplete." The client sent a malformed request. Remove the connector in your assistant and add it again.
An approval screen appears that you did not start Press Deny. Only approve a connection you started yourself, in your own assistant.
While using an assistant
The assistant finds nothing Check, in this order: AI access is switched on in the app (Settings → AI Access); the Status row says everything is synced; and the Transcripts page in the web app actually lists the walkthroughs you are asking about. Only recordings that already have a transcript are synced.
"Rate limit exceeded" An assistant may make 60 read requests per minute for your account. The message names the time at which the budget refills — wait that long and ask again.
The assistant says its access was refused Its access expired or was withdrawn. Connect it again: Settings → AI Access → Connect an AI assistant, then re-add or re-authorise the connector in the same browser.
